JimFrom Native to Vinifera grape varieties, Jim has been there, seen it, trimmed it. Current resident of Penn Yan, NY he keeps a busy schedule, but can usually be found outdoors. When he’s not spending time with his wife Karen and two children—Jess and Tim; his “home away from home” is our vineyard. Hidden somewhere along a row of vines, Jim can usually be found with a headset radio, a smile and big wave which comes complete with one of his ever present witty jokes. For Jim, The Finger Lakes region is a place he’s happy and completely content to call home.
Taylor joins Red Tail Ridge as our Assistant Winemaker, after having worked harvests in Oregon, New Zealand, California and Australia. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, he earned a journalism degree from the University of Tennessee and later completed his Viticulture and Enology studies in New Zealand at Lincoln University. He most looks forward to learning about the Finger Lakes Riesling and Pinot Noir!
Bobbie “Welcome to Red Tail Ridge” is the first thing you’ll hear when Bobbie is in the tasting room. She loves to hear about your adventures in wine, while you are tasting ours. Her favorite wine “depends on the day” but our “obscure red varietals” hold a special place in her heart.
Her other favorite thing is spoiling the resident pups!
Bob joined the tasting room crew in April 2017, having recently moved to the area from down state after retiring from a long career in human services. He enjoys learning about our wines and passing that knowledge on to our customers. Like several of his coworkers, he is a big fan of our reds. When not in the tasting room, Bob enjoys boating on Seneca Lake with his wife, Kim.
Colin is a new addition to the Red Tail Ridge tasting room crew, starting in the summer of 2019. He is a Keuka Lake native, being born in Hammondsport and brought up in Penn Yan. Although picking a favorite wine from RTR is a daunting task, the Rebel with a Cause is his current favorite.
Bueller–Public Relations Specialist
Meet our newest addition to the pack. Bueller comes to us via the Great Pyrenees Rescue Group. We think he is about 2 or 3 years of age. Its pretty clear that Bueller had a difficult past; but now he has a forever home with us and the pack. Bueller is now a graduate of obedience school and certified as a Canine Good Citizen! He can be found patrolling the vineyard and schmoozing customers in the winery and tasting room.
