Red Tail Ridge Winery is located on the western shore of Seneca Lake —in the heart of New York State ’s Finger Lakes region—and we are devoted to producing premium dry wines. We believe that wine should be a representation of the land from which it was produced—right down to the packaging.  As a result, we chose to name the winery after the nesting hawks that live in the woods near our property.  They are our constant vineyard companions and inspiration.

Currently, we have 3 acres of Pinot Noir clones, 2 acres of Chardonnay, 14 acres of Riesling, and the rest of our 20 acre vineyard is devoted to Teroldego and Dornfelder. We spend a lot of time and energy to ensure that our vines are healthy and well-balanced, because growing premium grapes is the first step to making premium wine. 

Our wines, like our grapes, are carefully hand-crafted.  We produce small-lots (sometimes less than 50 cases) to further preserve and enhance the varietal characteristics that we generate in the vineyard.

We encourage people to taste our wines at the tasting room, which is set on top of the ridge within our vineyards.  The scenic drive through the vines and the quiet atmosphere provide the perfect venue for wine-tasting, and they make Red Tail Ridge Winery one of the most unique destinations in the Finger Lakes.  We look forward to seeing you soon.
